About Amir Tavassoli

Amir Tavassoli (Mohammedreza Tavassoli Sabzevar) was born in 1973 in Tehran. His father was the master (Morshed) of Zoorkhaneh rituals and this caused him to be familiar with poetry and singing from his childhood and to be fond of music. This made it useful in the following years. From the age of 17, he started looking for music and chose to learn the piano. He learned the piano from his brother and did his first professional work as a composer for the TV series “Mr. Rezayat Family“, written by Hamid Amjad and produced by Vahid Nikkhah Azad.

In the early 90s’, he formed “Pezhvak Music Group“, which was the first rock music group after the revolution. Farzad Fakhreddini, Arash Radan, Milad Zendenam, Kasri Saboktakin, Hamid Tavassoli, Navid Zolfaghar, and in some period of time Shahkar Bineshpazhoh were members of this group. In the mid-ninties, an album with a completely different path was released by this group under the title On the “Bastar Laghzan“, this album is the first work in the form of fusion music (new age music) in Iran, and most of its pieces are composed by Amir Tavassoli.

After that, Amir Tavassoli started composing music for theaters on the stage and wrote music for several theaters.
